Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Tucson towable tire pressure monitoring system with the four ball sensors. Now this tire pressure monitoring system will allow you to monitor your trailer or motor home tire pressures and temperature. A properly inflated tire can increase fuel economy, extend tire life, and even improve safety and environmental efficiency. Now this kit here will include everything I have laid out here on the table. We'll start with the receiver monitor display.
Comes with the suction cup holder, the four ball sensors, the repeater, the 12 volt power cable that plugs into the monitor, some installation hardware and a nice user's manual to describe how this all its goes together and how it operates. Now we'll start with the monitor. This monitor can display and store three separate sets of 10 tire sensors, so 30 total for three separate trailers or RV configurations. You can easily change between the three settings when towing different trailers, and we do sell additional ball sensors that you can add to it if you need to add any sensors. Those are sold separately.
The sensors use radio frequency to transmit realtime data to the in-cab receiver. The motion activated ball sensors will install in the inside of the tire to prevent damage or theft. And the ball type sensors have a nice hard plastic body with a rubberized coating for durability. They do weigh less than one ounce, so they won't affect any tire balance. And the other nice thing is each sensor has a unique ID number to identify the sensor to the receiver.
If you look at the box when you get 'em, they'll be labeled. So when you initially install these, you put 'em in that position. And then when if you rotate your tires, the interchangeable wheel order means that there's no need to move the sensors after a tire rotation. All you have to do is put it into the monitor display of what it's located on the vehicle or trailer. Now these sensors have a longer life expectancy than external cap sensors.
These will last anywhere from five to 10 years depending on its use. Now the receiver will display critical tire monitoring parameters. It'll show you tire pressure monitoring range from zero to 203 PSI. It'll show you tire temperature monitoring range from a negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 257 degrees Fahrenheit. It'll also show you the sensor's battery voltage and the repeaters input voltage. Now it does offer visual and audible alarm warnings. They're immediately sent to the receiver when any problems are detected. The screen can be turned off while you're still monitoring in the background. And there's an alarm volume that can be adjusted or muted. It does offer customizable settings to allow you to adjust to your desired units of measurement. The temperature units, you can do either Fahrenheit or Celsius. And the pressure units, you can do either KPA, PSI, or BAR. The dimension on the monitor itself is a width of about 4 1/2 inches. A height of about 2 1/8 inches, and a depth of only about one inch. Now the radio frequency repeater here, this will enhance the radio frequency transmission range between the sensors and the receiver. Has a cable length of 90 inches. And the dimension on the repeater, it's gonna be about 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches by about 7/8 of an inch thick. And the operating voltage on this unit is 12 to 24 volts DC. But that should do it for the review on the Tucson towable tire pressure monitoring system with the four ball sensors.
I have not yet installed the system and the sensors so I am in hopes that they will work as planned and advertised so far they look good to me.
Works as advertised. Great peace of min d.
Delivered on time. have not put inside wheels yet. Will let you know when all the snow melts.
Received my order promptly. Hadn't had a chance to install the TPS yet.
Installed on 36’ fifth wheel. Works fla wlessly.
Worked very well, gave me peace of mind driving down the road, installed on 5th wheel camper.
One of two elbow fittings was smaller so I had to go and buy a nipple to install it makingbit a bit taller, so I had to just reverse the install, photos added
We love the Tuson Tire Monitoring System. Installation requires breaking the tire down to install the sensor but the rest of the installation was really easy. The kit comes with everything needed and straightforward instructions. The display is very clear and easy to read. It scrolls through 3 different data fields; Tire Pressure, Tire Temperature, and Trailer Battery Voltage.
Well worth the money. I needed a system that monitored over 100 psi, as well as accommodate the large diameter (5/8”) valve stems. That alone eliminated many of the other systems on the market. The included repeater makes it suitable for longer trailers. (RV @ 40+ feet) Great for peace of mind along the way. Highly recommended!
These are much more responsive than the external stem based TPMD systems. They allow checking and filling like a car tire system. The Only drawback is the vehicle has to be moving to check tire pressures so it can't be used for pre-trip tire pressure check.
